Debt Recovery

Overview

ITC’s litigation team is dedicated to providing debt recovery services to medium-to-large scale private organisations, financial institutions, education institutions and government clients.

We pride ourselves on our ability to minimise bad debtors for our clients by implementing effective demand procedures and negotiating cost-effective results.

Our services cover the ambit of debt collection from the initial letter of demand through to a company ‘winding up’ and individual bankruptcy proceedings in court.

Key Areas of Practice

We focus on specifically meeting the individual needs of each creditor, providing quicker and less expensive processes for the recovery of debts owing to clients, more often than not without the need to commence legal proceedings. We aim to ensure that our clients are regularly updated on the progress of their claims.

Our services include:

  • enforcing judgments through public examination and sale of assets
  • instituting bankruptcy or winding up proceedings
  • lodging caveats where a credit application allows
  • negotiating payment plans and alternative dispute resolution
  • instituting legal proceedings in the applicable courts for the recovery of unpaid monies
